Tuna Shanghai Rolls

Talking about shanghai rolls, it’s one of the most popular and highly liked wrapped dish in the country. And it is often made of ground pork. This time, I wanted to make something healthy using tuna instead of pork. Tuna Shanghai Rolls is easy, cheap and a healthy dish for your family.

Here’s how to cook Tuna Shanghai Rolls:

Ingredients:

2 cans 420g tuna flakes in oil
1/2 cuo grated carrots
1/2 cup grated potatoes (juice drained)
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 medium sized white onion
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 egg
lumpia wrapper
Jolly Heart Mate canola oil
2 cloves garlic
salt
pepper
ketchup (for the dip)

Process:

1. In a large bowl combine tuna flakes (drained), carrots, potatoes, white onions, garlic, green onions, cheese and egg.

2. Mix thoroughly.

3. Start wrapping using a lumpia wrapper. Use water to close.

4. In a deep fry pan, heat a good amount of canola oil.

5. Fry the wrapped rolls until brown. Use paper towel to remove excess oil.

You can use any dip that you love.

I got a request from one of my followers to prepare something easy and healthy and that kids will love. This tuna shanghai rolls is what I can suggest. I also used canola oil to make it even healthier.

Since I used grated potatoes, I have to drain or squeeze out its juice to avoid too much liquid on the mixture. I want to add texture to the filling that’s why I added potatoes.
