Maja Blanca

Maja Blanca is one popular and very easy dessert that most Filipino love. It doesn’t require too much process and ingredients. So it is well loved by many. It also comes in many version. And this one uses cheddar cheese for toppings.

Here’s how to cook Maja Blanca:

Ingredients:

1 cup Cornstarch
1 can (370ml) Evaporated Milk
1 can (400ml) Jolly Coconut Milk
1 can (390g) Jolly Condensada
1 can (425g) Jolly Cream Corn
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
Cheddar Cheese (Grated)

Process:

1. In a bowl, combine the evaporated milk and cornstarch. Whisk until cornstarch is dissolved. Set aside.

2. In a pan, pour in the coconut milk, condensada, brown sugar and cream corn. Stir and let it simmer in a low fire for about 5 minutes.

3. Add in the cornstarch mixture. Do constant stirring until the mixture becomes thick.

4. Pour in the mixture in a pan or a baking tray. Top with grated cheese.

5. Refrigerate and chill.

Ready and Serve!

Note from Delish:

There are many versions of maja blanca, some are topping them with peanuts or roasted grated coconut. Since I love cheese, I used cheddar cheese instead.
