Beef Broccoli

You’ve probably seen a lot beef broccoli recipes. But this one is isn’t far from them.If you want to have a crunchy broccoli, don’t forget to blanch them. Beef also at times require long hours of cooking, make sure to cut them accordingly.Just a bit of a twist, you can sprinkle some dried chili flakes.

Ingredients:

300g Beef Sirlion
1 broccoli head
1 large sized onion (1/2 chopped, 1/2 cut into stips)
5 cloves garlic (minced)
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp honey
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp cornstarch (dissolved in cold water)
1/2 tsp chili flakes
salt
pepper
cooking oil
1 bowl of water with ice

Marinating:

1. Prepare beef sirlion in a bowl. Add in garlic, salt, pepper and apple cider vinegar.

2. Set aside for 15-20 minutes.

Blanching the Broccoli:

1. Boil water in a caserole. Pour in broccoli, close the lid for 1 minute.

2. Turn off fire. Remove broccoli and put them in the bowl of water with ice.

Final Process:

1. Heat oil in a pan.

2. Fry the marinated beef on both sides.

3. Pour in 1/2 cup of water. Close the lid. Cook the beef nice and tender.

4. Add in chopped onions and minced garlic in the pan.

5. Let it simmer for 2 minutes.

6. Add in the oyster sauce, soy sauce, honey and dried chili flakes.

7. Pour in dissolved cornstarch.

8. Simmer it for another 2 minutes.

9. Add back in blanched broccoli.

The main thing about this recipe is to choose the right beef cut for easy cooking. It would be best to use beef sirlion.

If you want to have that bright green color, crunchy broccoli, you need to blanch it. The process where you have to cook the broccoli in a boiling water for a minute then soaking them in a bowl of water with ice.

Broccoli is rich in vitamin C, K and folate. It can also be a good source of potassium, Vitamin B1 and B6 and contains high dietary fiber.
